Gospel Music: Great Worship Songs #1

The first Fred Hammond song that I ever heard was:
"Bread of heaven sent down from glory
Many things you were on earth
A holy king, A carpenter
You are the living word.
Awesome Ruler, Gentle Redeemer
God with us, the Living Truth
And what a friend we have in You
You are the Living Word. [2x]"

Blessed Words!

"You are the living Word" came in the album "Purpose By Design" which was released on March 21, 2000.

The lyrics to this song was co-written by Noel Hall and Fred Hammond. "You are the living Word" then made the WOW Gospel music compilation 2002 at No. 20.
For lots of young worshippers in developing countries, this is the first song from Fred that they ever heard. From 2003-2005, this was the most popular worship song in churches(facts based on information from Nigeria and Ghana only). What about you? Was this the first Fred Hammond song you ever heard?

    1. Yea Musicman, Unique vocals indeed. I tot I would get some stunning comments saying this experience of mine is false. Wow! "You are the Living Word" reigned over here long after its release. It's still been sung in some churches you know! 14years on.
