Wow! Do you know that no new Ebola case has been diagnosed in Nigeria in the past 5weeks? This is amazing!
The World Health Organisation, WHO, said yesterday in Geneva that it may declare Nigeria and Senegal Ebola-free within days if they complete a 42-day period with no new cases.
WHO said this had become imperative because 42 days from the time when the last person with high risk exposure tested negative for the virus, gives sufficient confidence to declare an outbreak over. The Ebola virus is known to have a maximum incubation period of 21days.
Thanks to the Lagos State Government, to all health officials on ground and the numerous agencies that made efforts to contain the spread of this infirmity. Nigeria is truly blessed for the scripture declares in Exodus 15:26 (English Standard Version) saying:
“If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, your healer.”
People are already expectant and in celebration mode. Mr. Dipo Daramola a Nigerian in the diaspora stated:
Nigerians in diaspora are sighing for relief as their fear of a dangerous situation back home has been calmed by this precious news. Ebola is deadly, but it found no hiding place in Nigeria. Something good must be happening in this nation. You see!!!
